Peterborough United Academy Scholarship

Through an intensive football and educational program, Peterborough United Academy Scholarship offers you the chance to represent Peterborough United and earn nationally recognized credentials. Students will train, play, and study under the direction of the Peterborough United Foundation’s full-time UEFA-trained coaches and Nene Park Academy in the official Peterborough United training and match shirts for ages 16 to 19.

Football Overview

As part of the program, players will compete for Peterborough United against teams like Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham, Aston Villa, Wolves, and West Brom in the National Football Youth League (NFYL) and Community & Education Football Alliance (CEFA). Matches are held at a variety of magnificent locations, including non-league fields and first-team practice facilities. To close the gap with academy football, the leagues are only open to development teams from Premier League and Football League clubs with comparable programs. Wednesday is the day for games when Peterborough United’s first team plays its home matches at the Idverde Training Ground.

TRAINING

Players will train in technical and tactical areas to develop the players within the team as well as prepare for games throughout a minimum of three training sessions each week. Using a curriculum that parallels the Academy, training will also be conducted at the Idverde Training Ground under the direction of full-time UEFA-qualified trainers.

ANALYSIS OF PERFORMANCE AND MATCH

Through VEO, every home fixture is recorded. HUDL software will allow players access to the video so they may evaluate their weekly performances. Players have unrestricted access to HUDL during their weekly schedule, where they can review every match with coach commentary for progress. Anyone seeking to play abroad can use HUDL to make highlight reels of their best performances.

STRENGTH AND CIRCUMSTANCES

Players will have access to Nene Park Academy’s gym through the agreement, and each player will receive a customized development plan that will help them grow physically and perform at their best. The Academy Sports Scientist at Peterborough United develops development plans.

Overview Of The Education

The academic program at Nene Park Academy enables students to gain the fundamental know-how, credentials, and skills necessary to advance into a profession in sport and leisure, either directly or via further education.

A-Levels or a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport will be offered to students. Alternatively, students might select a BTEC and A-Level combination.

Over the course of two years, classes are taught using a combination of theoretical and practical sessions, and students are evaluated using a variety of methods, including written reports, presentations, discussions, case studies, and workbooks.

Requirements for the Peterborough United Academy Scholarship

The minimum entrance criteria are five grade four or higher in both English and math (resits are considered on an individual basis). For some courses, there are extra additional prerequisites. For exact prerequisites, please refer to the NPA Sixth Form prospectus.
