More Information About Millwall F.C.

Located in Bermondsey, South East London, England, it is a professional football team. They play in the EFL Championship, the second division of English football. The club was founded in 1885 under the name Millwall Rovers, and it has kept that name even though it stopped competing in the Millwall neighborhood of the Isle of Dogs in 1910. From that time until 1993, the club performed at what is now known as The Old Den in New Cross. Later, it relocated to the Den, where it now resides.

The club’s traditional club crest features a lion rampant, and the team is known as “The Lions.” White shorts, dark blue socks, and dark blue shirts make up the club’s official uniform.

One of the founding members of the Southern League in 1894 was Millwall. They played until 1920 and won the championship twice, in 1895 and 1896. Millwall joined the Football League in the 1920–21 season. Five times as champions in 1928, 1938, 1962, 1988, and 2001, the club has been promoted eleven times and relegated nine times. In 89 out of their 95 seasons in the League, they alternate between the second and third divisions.

The club played in the EPL for a brief period from 1988 to 1990. Their best-ever league result was tenth place in the First Division in 1988-89. In 2004, Millwall played in the UEFA Cup and advanced to the FA Cup final for the first time in club history.

The team was a finalist for the Football League Trophy in 1999, and they won the Football League Group Cup in 1983. They also won two League One play-off in 2010 and 2017.

The Club’s 125th Anniversary

The Lions’ 125th anniversary was commemorated on October 2, 2010, which was the closest home game date to the first matchup Millwall ever played against Fillebrook on October 3, 1885. For the game, players donned unique, special uniforms that featured the names of each football player who represented the team. They played Burnley in the Macron-made uniform and tied 1-1.

After five years as the club’s manager, Kenny Jackett celebrated by defeating Nottingham Forest 4-1 in November 2012. Despite having a strong 13-game unbeaten streak to start the 2012–13 campaign, Millwall only managed five victories in their final 23 games. On the final day of the season, we just barely avoided relegation. Despite their subpar league performance, they made it to the FA Cup semi-final for the seventh time in club history. At Wembley on April 14, 2013, they suffered a 2-0 defeat to eventual cup winners Wigan Athletic.
