PeterChris Okpala founded Charisma University in March 2011. The Ministry of Education of the Turks and Caicos Islands in the United States has fully recognized the University as an institution that awards associate, bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and certificate degrees. Charisma University is a private, nonprofit institution that offers diplomas and certificates online and on-campus and is approved by the Ministry of Education of the Turks and Caicos Islands through its Advisory Board of the College.
About Charisma University
Charisma University is located in the Grace Bay area of Providenciales, on the island’s northeast coast. Students can earn undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees in various faculties at Charisma University, including business, education, law, philosophy and religion, psychology and behavioral science, and health science. Students can choose from over 40-degree programs and other specializations within these faculties. Adult learners are also important to Charisma University.
The degrees available can be structured to allow students to fit their coursework around other obligations such as work or childcare. There is an English proficiency requirement for Charisma University admission. Students who do not speak English as their first language must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language and receive a minimum score. The university also has international partnerships with other universities that allow students to spend a year studying abroad. These international collaborations have also allowed for faculty exchange and advanced research opportunities.
The university’s name, Charisma University, is derived from the word “charisma” (n; Theol *), which refers to the Holy Spirit’s extraordinary power of working miracles. Charisma University and CHEA
Under the auspices of Charisma University, the Center for Advanced Research and Innovation (CARI) was established as an independent organization. The Center offers advanced research facilities in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Technology disciplines. CARI also aims to establish and promote exchange programs with domestic and international academic, research, training, and think tank organizations. The American Council on Education recognizes Charisma University as a member institution (ACE).
ACE member institutions have a long history of serving adult students. The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) is a recognized organization that ACE supports (CHEA). The International Association of Universities is a member of ACE (IAU). Charisma University is a member of the International Quality Group of the CHEA (Council for Higher Education Accreditation) (CIQG). Through international accreditation bodies around the world, the CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG) advances the understanding of international quality assurance and promotes high-quality higher education.
The CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG) maintains a global database of accredited organizations. It is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to accreditation and quality assurance in higher education in the United States and abroad.
Charisma University Admission Requirement:
Before being admitted to the university or being provisionally admitted to the university, all graduates and non-graduates must meet the following admission requirements:
- A filled-out application form
- A completed letter of intent (for doctoral students) states your intention to pursue a doctoral degree.
- Doctoral candidates must submit a CV or a reference letter demonstrating two years of work experience.
- Official transcripts from colleges, universities, and other accredited institutions where you earned credit. Transcripts must be sent to Charisma University directly.
- Unofficial transcript copies will be accepted for provisional approval if official transcripts are received within eight weeks of acceptance. Until their provisional status is lifted, students with temporary status may not earn more than 12 credits for undergraduate studies or 6-8 credits for study programs.
- GPA Requirements: Students seeking a Master’s degree must have completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 2.0. A Ph.D. in psychology and a doctorate with a 3.0 (GPA) from accredited colleges or universities are required for a student’s doctoral thesis. A student with a 2.5 MPa accredited by universities/colleges can enroll in Cyber Security Administration programs, but these undergraduate students must complete a total of 90 required credits beyond their undergraduate degree, compared to 63 credits for master’s students.
A graduate student seeking admission to a doctoral program with a GPA of less than 3.0 for master’s programs or less than 2.5 MPa for doctoral programs may be required to take the GRE before being admitted to the university under certain conditions or in full at the discretion of the Dean of the School. Although no GRE scores are required for admission, the Admissions Committee evaluates each student’s performance based on the ERG and other factors. Students who enroll in a Ph.D. program in psychology (Psy.D) or a Ph.D. program in cyber security administration with a GPA of 2.5 or higher are exempt from the GRE requirement.
- GED or proof of high school diploma or certificate (required for all students looking for students).
- Official documents granting college or university credits from sources such as CLEP, GED DANTÉS, Advanced Level Exams, Performance Tests, State University Exams for New York, and Thomas A. Edison State University.
- The American Council on Education (ACE) http://militaryguides.acenet.edu/ should be used to evaluate military personnel.
Educational programs and official courses sponsored by non-collegiate organizations meet the American Council on Education’s recommendations. Charisma University accepts credits from accredited colleges and universities. Students who completed previous studies at universities/colleges where English is not the primary language of instruction must send their diplomas to one of the following organizations for evaluation:

- International Education Research Foundation (IERF) –
The body that provides the assessment body must send certificates issued by one of the above assessment bodies directly to the university(s).
Charisma University Accreditation
The Turks and Caicos Islands Ministry of Education, Labour, Employment, and Customer Service recognizes Charisma University as a degree-granting institution for associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees and certificate programs. The Council for Higher Education Accreditation has recognized the Ministry of Education, Labour, Employment, and Customer Service (CHEA). The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs has granted Charisma University accreditation (ACBSP).
ACBSP accredits associate, baccalaureate, master’s, and doctorate-level business, accounting, and business-related programs around the world. The Council for Higher Education Accreditation recognizes ACBSP (CHEA). The Accreditation, Certification, and Quality Assurance Institute has granted Charisma University institutional accreditation (ACQUIN). The German Accreditation Council recognizes ACQUIN. This council defines system accreditation as a university’s internal quality assurance system.
ACQUIN is a member of and recognized by a number of international organizations, including the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), the European University Association (EUA), the Central Eastern European Network for Quality Assurance (CEENQA), and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
The World Higher Education Database of the International Association of Universities (IAU) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) includes Charisma University (WHED). What is Charisma University’s location?
Charisma University is located in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, at Queen’s Landing, Units 8, 9, and 10. The majority of the islands gained independence in the late twentieth century, except for the Cayman Islands and the Turks and Caicos Islands, which are still British territories.
